This over 20,000 acre National Wildlife Refuge is bordered on the west by the St. Johns River and the north by DeLeon Springs Run. It contains wetlands, lakes, streams, islands, and upland areas. It is open from sunrise to sunset for the enjoyment of the public for a variety of activities such as hiking, fishing, nature photography, birding, and biking.

We are a National Wildlife Refuge that was established and is managed for migratory waterfowl. There are hiking, canoeing/boating, fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities that take place on the Refuge.

We are a federal agency for the purpose of supporting wildlife habitat and their needs.
